Magimix were the first company to introduce a home food processor to the UK, way back in 1974. With 25+ years to perfect their product, we’ve got pretty high expectations of the Magimix 4200!
The model that we’re looking at today comes in white, and has quite a striking modern look. It’s a minimal upright design, which I must say looks rather stylish! This simple design has filtered down into it’s operation too. With 3 simple buttons (on, off and pulse) you should be up and running in no time at all!
At the heart of this machine is a 950w commercial-grade motor. It’s just a touch less powerful than some others on the market, but the superior quality of the motor is reflected in Magimix’s 12 year guarantee! That’s not a typo – Magimix guarantee that the motor will not break down under normal use for 12 years. That gives you 144 months peace of mind if my maths serves me correctly!
The other parts of the machine, such as the bowl and the attachments, have a very decent warranty period, with a nice 3 year guarantee on these too!
One of the great things about the 4200 is that there are 3 bowls included. If you’ve been struggling to decide what size of food processor to go for, you might want to have a look at this one. It comes with a mini 1.2 litre bowl, a medium 2.6 litre bowl, and the main bowl is 3 litres in size (providing enough space for a family of 4).
Included are the usual array of attachments that you’d expect; sabotier knife blades, 2mm slicing/grating disc, 4mm slicing/grating disc, citrus press, dough blade, geared whisk, and spatula. Also included is the new BlenderMix attachment which turns your food processor into an efficient blender for making soups, smoothies and milkshakes.
A common complaint with food processors is the clutter they make in your cupboards. This won’t happen with this one though, which includes a storage case which all of the attachments and accessories fit snugly inside.
We found that most food processor were cheapest at Amazon.co.uk, including the Magimix 4200 which is currently available for 3% off.

Customer Feedback and Reviews
After collecting together all the customer reviews and comments that we could, it was easy to see that people simply loved their Magimix food processor! There were hardly any dissatisfied customers. In fact, over 95% of customers awarded the 4200 top marks of 4 or 5 stars.
Reading through what people had to say about the machine, it became very clear that it is a quality device. Almost all customers remarked on the build quality; the Magimix is well designed, robust and solid. Often the bowls and accessories are somewhat neglected by manufacturers (who view them as consumable items), however it was noted that the bowls and attachments that come with this machine are high quality too.
Of course, people were more than welcoming of the warranty period. The 3 year guarantee period is excellent, but customers were really taken aback with the 12 years that Magimix guarantee the motor for! You simply won’t find this anywhere else.
Food processors are almost always noisy; it’s just the way it is. However, time and time again people praised the 4200 for being nice and quiet. Despite its quietness, it still packs a powerful punch! People used the device for whipping up everything from breadcrumbs, coleslaw and bread, to lamb kebabs!
Happy cooks from all over the world said that the machine makes short work of any chopping, slicing, or mixing task that you can think of. Several people said that it can knead dough for bread, and bring together pastry in little under 20 seconds; a massive time saver. It slices and chops in a matter of seconds too.
The lid has a large feed tube, which means that you don’t have to chop items down too much to throw them into the processor. Another little time saver!
Finally, unlike other processors on the market, the storage box has a place for every single attachment. This means you won’t have to clutter up your cupboards with all the bits and pieces.
Ok, it’s a great food processor! But was there anything that people didn’t like?
A minor complaint from a few people was that they felt the instructions could have been clearer. Having flicked through, I see plenty of illustrations and diagrams so personally I disagree with this. However this is very much down to the individual of course. What I would say, is that Magimix have placed instructional videos on their website which show you exactly how everything is done!
The one downside to the machine is that it is rather heavy (the price you pay for a quality build). For that reason, it’s probably going to need to have its own special place on the worktop. The good news is that it’s a nice looking machine, so it won’t look out of place. Also, since this is a serious food processor, the kind of cook buying is probably going to want it out all of the time anyway.
We love the Magimix 4200! Sure, it’s not the cheapest but when it comes to food processors, you get what you pay for. This is a high quality appliance if ever we saw one, and that 12 year motor guarantee certainly protects your investment. We think this is quite possibly the best home food processor available at the moment. Highly recommended!
