Breville VHB070 3-in-1 Set Review

When you think of blenders, you tend to think of the names Kenwood, Philips and Russell Hobbs but other options are available! We’re taking a look at one of those options today: the Breville VHB070 3-in-1.

The first thing that you’ll notice about the Breville VHB070 is that it’s rather a stylish little device. It has a chrome and red finish which looks vibrant and modern, and it’ll look totally at home on the worktop of any modern kitchen.

The Breville 3-in-1 Hand Blender is versatile as well as nice looking. As well as the standard blending attachment, also included is a mini chopper, and a balloon whisk. As well as the usual soups, smoothies and milkshakes this blender will help you chop up veg and herbs, and whisk up eggs, creams and the like too.

Also included is an 800ml beaker with a screw on lid. You can use this beaker to blend up your ingredients, then simply screw on the lid and throw it into the refrigerator for later.

The built-in 600w motor has 2 speeds; standard and turbo. The slower of the two should be fine for most purposes, but if you need an extra boost of power the turbo mode should provide the extra oomph you need. The machine has an anti-splash guard, so there shouldn’t be any mess when you do move into the turbo mode (more on this later).

With this kind of power over under hood, you don’t need to worry about the Breville 3 in 1 blender being uncomfortable to hold; it’s been designed with ergonomics in mind. The handle has easy grip panels so that it’s easy to hold onto during blending, even with the powerful motor on full blast.

Everything is dishwasher safe, so when you’re done blending the machine should prove nice and simple to clean too.

Customer Feedback and Reviews

The VHB070 is not as popular as some other hand blenders on the market, but we were still able to gather a decent amount of customer reviews and feedback. All of them were from satisfied customers, and 93% of them gave the device top marks of 4 or 5 stars.

People loved the design, as we expected, saying that the machine is both well made and attractive. It’s a smart device that will look nice on the kitchen worktop.

People had turned the machine to a wide range of tasks, and reported good results. When it comes to blending, the device does a great job on anything from soups, smoothies and milkshakes, to whipped cream and pancake batter.

The blender has a nice long arm, which means you can make up soup and blend it directly even in the deepest of pans.

One problem that quite a few people reported about blending, was that it needs to be done with some care. The machine comes with a splash guard built-in, but several customers pointed out that it is somewhat ineffective. You’ll need to make sure that the blender is well submerged, or you might end up redecorating your kitchen walls!

Blending is the machines forte, however customers reported that it performs other tasks adequately. It chops and whisks acceptably, although several people expressed disappointment at the flimsy nature of these attachments.

The Breville VHB070 3-in-1 isn’t a bad device by any means, but the one thing that puts us off it is the number of people who mentioned that it can splash and make a mess. We’d recommend spending an extra £12 and getting the Philips HB724 hand blender– it’s just as versatile and isn’t going to redecorate your kitchen!
